An imposing, striking Empire II chimneypiece, named Pattes de Lion or Lions Paws. Nicely carved in subdued Carrara marble. This marble has a Statuary quality (no bleu or grey in it), which adds a distinct shine and warm raffinée. Fireplace was found in an important Maison Maître in Brussels. Comparing the execution of this Lions Paws fireplace to other ones: All the sculpture works on this fireplace are above average.
