This is a late nineteenth century (Napoléon III-Belle Epoque) Belgian fireplace-surround, made out of the valued Belgian marble du Rance. De moulded and rounded shelf rests above a panelled frieze with a central lozenge and cushioned panels. Flanked by square endblocks. All echoed on the jambs. The Rouge du Rance is a Devonian red limestone from the région North. Google 'Devonian' and you will learn about plants and fishes, ammonites and first life on dry land. The whole story is captured in the Rouge du Rance marble. Fireplace will be delivered with original old marble floortiles to make a frontfloor. A 'Surround' fireplace can be also replaced as a front-model. We have also original decor-tiles in stock to finish the foyer (interior). Worldwide shipping.
