A lovely Pompadour fireplace, present with a powerful colored and highly valued Griotte marble. Made during the late second half of the nineteenth century. (Ca.1875). The model is a Pompadour: 'en l'honneur de madame'. The frieze is decorated with the characteristic medaillon in the center, the curved legs are panelled and decorated with scrolls and canted. Griotte marble is from a greater luxury, it's sold in the 19th century at the same price as the Brèche Violet. This fireplace will be delivered with old marble floortiles to finish a frontfloor.
