Description
An exceptional, large and sturdy fireplace, made out of the blackest-black marble: Noir de Mazy. Ca.1860, the period of the house it once stood. The double moulded shelf is resting on a serpentine frieze which is nicely carved in high relief, depicting an androgynous face in the center, flanked by some trailing Acanthus leafs. Rich carved, scrolling endblocks. The panelled console jambs are also decorated with a floral motif. Fireplace will be delivered with it's own cast-iron fireback and old marble floortiles to make a frontfloor, Carrara or Noir de Mazy. Worldwide shipping. Delivery in Europe can be done by Antique Fireplaces First: 'In House Delivery'.
