"Talavera" is a fine earthware, glazed with tin and always hand-painted. Originating in Spain, it developed from the 16th century onwards and later flourished in Mexico. This big "Talavera"vase depicts goats and a Spanish gentleman on a horseback. The sides are decorated with trees, neck and base are adorned with flowers and leafs. The handles are shaped like two intertwined snakes. The handcrafting process takes three to four months and is risky. That makes Talavera much more costly than other types of pottery. Today, "Talavera" is a registered trademark. Only pieces from designed regions and certifeid workshops are authorized to bear the "Talavera" name. Worldwide delivery.
